Eli's First Christmas

We have had the opportunity to spend Christmas in Las Vegas this year. It has been a lot of fun especially with no snow. We love the snow but not Rexburg Christmas snow where you can't move or go anywhere. Eli has had a lot of fun visiting family as well, we are very fortunate to have family close by. Eli was so cute this year. I have such a problem with sleeping in on Christmas Day. I just get so excited. So I woke Alex up at 5:00 am and then we went downstairs to wake everyone up at 5:30 am and Eli woke up with us. He was so tired and exhausted later but he still had a lot of fun. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Growing Up

Eli is just getting too old. I know I say this all the time. Eli loves to explore new things. He is sad that he is not yet crawling because he just wants to go everywhere. He is learning how to crawl though so shortly but surely we will definitely need to start baby proofing the house. He can get up on his toes and try to move but the force against his hands and his feet just cause him to plop straight down. He is one happy kid though. Wakes up with a smile and smiles at mom and dad all the time. He definitely brings so much joy into our lives and we love having him around. Now for the pictures. We take so many random pictures of Eli that we hope you all enjoy them just as much as we do!

He loves his sock monkey!

Somehow Eli got stuck under this chair. He has figured out how to go backwards but not forwards yet.

I was doing the dishes and heard a noise so I turned around and said Eli what are you doing? And this is the look that he gave me with my bag of chocolate in hand. This is his guilty look.

And then he was just happy to have the bag, he didn't even want the chocolate. Those ended up all over the floor.

This is what Eli does during finals week

Cross eyed baby!

Cute smile

He really wanted to help dad with his Immunology class but then decided that his socks were more interesting

Up on the knees......

and then straight to the toes

Wait for It!

Eli is the funniest little baby that we have ever seen. Lately he seems to get really excited about certain things and will definitely show it on his face. Here is a little video of his oh so very excited expression, but make sure that you watch the whole thing. It will totally make your day!

Finals Week

Finals week has come and gone and we are happy to finally have a break. Both Alex and I enjoyed our classes a lot this semester and learned so much. Surprisingly this is one of our best semesters and we even had little Eli thrown into the mix. It was amazing and we can't wait to start next semester.....just not too quickly. We will not enjoy our Christmas break and a Happy New Year.

Out finals week consisted of big books.......

And lots of chocolate!

Homework Buddy

As this semester is coming to a close, Alex and I have realized that we have the best homework buddy ever!!! His name is Eli and we think that he is pretty dang cute! Everytime we are doing homework we have realized that we have these big brown eyes staring at us that say, "When are you going to come play with me?" and it is so hard to not play with him. So we just play with him anyways. But we found these pictures on our camera and of times when we were trying to do homework and he would give us the sweetest looks. We love our baby boy and can't believe that he is going to be turning 7 months soon! Oh how time flies!

He LOVES this monkey. We call him Joey.

Eli loves Alex's calculator! Most of the time he thinks it's his.

Feed Me!!!!!!

So Eli has now been officially introduced to solid foods. For my baby shower in Colorado a received a magnificent tool from Kathy Jones. It is saving my life right now. It is a food grinder thing. So I can make my own baby food and I am loving it and it seems like Eli is too. He gets so excited when I bring out his little bowl and spoon. He knows that it is food time them and this is the cute face that he gives me. He loves food just as much as his mama. I can't believe how big he is getting. I try telling him to slow down, but it doesn't seem to be working. Love him!

Thanksgiving

I know that this is long overdue but I had to post a couple of pictures from Thanksgiving. We didn't take a lot of pictures which is something that I regret because we had a lot of fun. We have Thanksgiving with our neighbors the Andrus' and the Dimond's. This is our last Thanksgiving that we will be together for because we are all moving away so we thought we would take the time that we have a cherish it. We had our feast at about 11:00 am and then hung out the rest of the day. We watched the movie Brave and then went to Wal Mart for a little Black Friday chaos. It was fun. We are so grateful for the family and friends that we have and would never trade them for the world.

Alex made the turkey this year. Looks delicious!
Eli and Alex were exhausted after eating so much food. They are adorable!

Pre-Thanksgiving Jitters

This is Eli's first Thanksgiving and he is so excited. While Alex was preparing the turkey today, Eli was sitting next to him in the kitchen and he was so excited!!!!

Eli also learned how to play the guitar with his dad this week and he was so excited! We love him!

6 Months and Growing

Eli grew up all of the sudden. I am not sure who exactly gave him permission but it definitely was not either of us. He is a whole whopping 6 months old now. Can you believe that? Neither can I! We love him more than anything in the world and LOVE seeing him grow. He is such a mellow kid with such a BIG personality. WE LOVE IT! And now I have tons of pictures of Eli! YAY!

Eli has a new talent. If he has socks on his feet, like he does most of the time, he bring his foot up to his mouth, rips off his sock and will chew on it forever. I don't know why he likes it but he does. And if there is no sock, then he will go to the next best thing.

Yes he has learned to stick his foot in this mouth! Classic baby move that I thought my child would not get but he has this talent! Yay Eli!!!! Hey at least it keeps him entertained.

Now if you know Eli, you know that he LOVES his binkie. When Alex's family came to visit a couple of week ago, he got a new binkie and it is his favorite!

This is the funniest thing that I have ever seen! He loves it and will definitely love the pictures when he is older.

Eli also has a friend that he plays with basically every day. Her name is Lea and she is the cutest! We love her and so does Eli. Lea is the first girl he has held hands with and I have proof! They are so much fun together. Lea is such a good friend and always tries to help Eli out when he is crying. She shares all of her toys and her food with Eli. We are sad to see them move away at the end of the year.

Our Chatty Baby

Eli has become super chatty lately and he cracks us up. The shapes that his lips make are hilarious and I thought I would just share this short video of his talking. It brightened up my day and I hope it brightens yours! Have a wonderful day!

All Over the Place

Life has been super crazy lately. Since we are both in school this semester, we are always running between home and school to make sure that we get all of our assignments done and to finish tests. We know it will be worth it in the end but it is just crazy! Eli has been such a trooper through everything. He is still a pretty low key kid but is growing up too fast. He loves going to the library with me to study because there are so many people there and he can just chat with all of them. He makes new friends everyday. Alex will be graduating in April and I will be graduating in July so hopefully things will start to slow down but I doubt it.

My family has recently moved to Washington and so we will not be going to Colorado for Christmas and am not sure when we will make it back over there. It is really sad because that is basically where I grew up and spent most of my life so far. But they are on to bigger and better things and will have the greatest time in Washington. So we will be spending our Christmas season in Las Vegas and we could not be more excited to have a Christmas without snow. We love the snow, but we do not like that we cannot travel in the snow here in Rexburg. When it snows here, you are trapped in your house for days.

Well that is about all of the update that I have for now. Life is crazy but we are loving every minute of it. Every moment in our life is a new adventure and we love being able to live it! Now here are a ton of pictures and movies. I still cannot believe how big Eli is getting. Well he is big to me but still in the 1st percentile for his weight. Still small, but such a big personality! LOVE HIM!

My big boy can hold his bottle all by himself now

We made zucchini fries. They were DELICIOUS!

I love his smiles. And he loves his sock monkey.

I came home and I asked Alex where Eli was. He said that I had to find him. So I looked everywhere and I said Alex this is n't funny anymore. All of the sudden I here this banging where we have the pyrex stuff. Yes Eli was just hanging out in there as quiet as could be. These two are going to get into so much trouble one day.

hahaha he looks so old and so terrified that he was found!

My sweet child!

Alex was playing his chanter for Eli and he fell asleep. Don't know one person who sleeps through that.

He loves his daddy!

Eli was getting sick of oatmeal and rice cereal so we decided to try baby food. He loves bananas. But we will wait again until he is really 6 months old

A messy experience but so much more fun

His first Halloween! Such a cute kid!

He loves the camera. He just wants to play with it all the time!

Love his hat and love that he will never let go of his toys!

Just love his face and his little cheeks!
