Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year was this past week. Coming from a Chinese background I decided that we need to celebrate our heritages whenever we can. In March we always celebrate St. Patrick's Day for Alex so we celebrate Chinese New Year for me in January or whenever it comes around. It was a lot of fun.

Alex and I decided that we would celebrate on Sunday. We made so much food! We were not expecting to make that much food, but we did. I get it from my mom. Our neighbors the Dimond's came over to help us make the food and then we had everyone to come over to help us eat the food.

We had some egg rolls, won tons, crab rangoon, rice, teriyaki chicken, and a spicy bake chicken. It was so good and Is till cannot believe how much food we had. It was fun to have our neighbors over and be surrounded with people we love since we could not have our families with us. We are so grateful for everything that we have in life and for all of the adventures that we continue to have. We are also excited to start the new 2012 year....twice!

One Awesome Date

My husband is awesome! We try to have date night every week, but sometimes time gets in the way and all we have time for is a movie with some popcorn. This week my husband planned a date and I had an amazing time. We started off by going to Original Thai for dinner.

If you are residing in Idaho and have not been to Original Thai then you should go. It is amazing! I love their food. Alex ordered their yellow curry and I ordered their spicy thai fried rice. It was amazing and a craving that I have been having for a while. We then headed over to the Cocoa Bean.

Again, another amazing place to go to in Idaho or in Utah. They have fantastic cupcakes. We shared a banana chocolate chip cupcake and a mint truffle steamie. It was delicious and it was warm which is nice to have on a freezing day in Rexburg, Idaho. We then went and saw a concert that was put on by BYU-Idaho that Alex swore that I would not like but I enjoyed it so much. It was called Celtic Nights.

It was a celtic band that performed and they were so good. They have such talent and not to mention cool accents. Alex was really excited when he saw the ulian pipes. They are like his bagpipes but I guess you do not have to blow into them. It was fun to see him so excited and enjoy such an amazing concert together.

What I thought was really cute about the date was the Alex explained that it was a little bit of both of our cultures. We were able to have Original Thai for my Asian background and then the concert was for Alex's Irish background. It was so thoughtful and he planned it all on his own. It love spending time with this boy and think he is the best husband in the world. He continues to make me smile everyday which is one of the most important things in this world!

Baby Bump!

I know I have been such a slacker at putting up baby bump pictures and everyone has been bugging me about them so here they are!!! YAY! I only have pictures of my 20 weeks and my 23 weeks, but I still see the difference between the both of them. It is so crazy that we are half way through this! I don't even know what will happen when we get into 30 weeks. It will be crazy!

So this is the progression thus far! I am just so excited to have this baby! But there is still so much more to do! I am glad that I am taking it easier this semester so that we both have time to get ready for this baby. The baby bedroom is starting to get ready but I just realized that we have so much stuff. So we are working on cleaning out that room and we will definitely put up pictures when everything is done.

Another treat that I would like to put on the blog today is something about my husband that I have been missing so so much! As some of you know Alex is awesome and one thing that makes him awesome is that he plays the BAGPIPES!!! I don't know if you can crave the bagpipes while being pregnant but I am definitely craving them. I am still trying to convince Alex for a small performance so we will see if it happens. This is a video from this summer when Alex and his dad were in the Nauvoo Pageant. It was such an awesome experience and I definitely would love to go back! Enjoy!

IT'S A BOY!!!

Alex and I were so excited to find out the sex of our baby yesterday! Our appointment was set for 10:00 am and we were so excited to go! We got there at 10:00 and then waited AN HOUR just to get in to see the doctor. I was getting very anxious! So when we finally got in to see the doctor we were able to find out that we are having a boy! We are so excited and I am just so excited to start to get ready for this baby. They took a lot of ultra sound pictures to make up for being super late. So we have a lot of pictures to share!

We tried to get a good picture of his face especially in 3-D but he was just way too bashful. He was stuck in one spot and did not want to move at all! Hope you guys enjoy these pictures as much as we do!

Happy New Year!

Happy 2012 to everyone! I hope that everyone had a wonderful 2011 and is looking forward to this new 2012 year! I know that Alex and I sure are! Well this year so far, nothing much has happened. Our little baby is growing like crazy! We are almost at 20 weeks and according to my book that I am reading, my baby is the size of a mango.

Our baby start off the size of a poppyseed. Look how small that is!
This is what the size of the baby now. I have no idea how I am fitting that thing in my stomach. And I also can't believe that this baby is growing that fast!

So that is how we are starting off our new year! Classes started today and we trying to make sure that we both take it a little bit easier so we don't kill ourselves. We want to be able to enjoy our life together and not always be in a rush! Happy New Year everyone! Good luck to you all!
